Position: Managing Editor (The Tablet)

Overview:
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn’s award-winning weekly newspaper, The Tablet, is looking for a seasoned journalist to fill the role of managing editor. The Tablet—in print since 1908—has a circulation of 42,000 is distributed in the New York Metro area and also reaches a national audience through its subscriber base. The managing editor is responsible for assisting in running the day-to-day editorial and production operations of the newspaper. The managing editor will work with the editor to select the paper’s content; will work with the assignment desk to select stories; edit reporter stories, as needed; and among other things, ensure that the style remains consistent. The Tablet is part of a larger news group that includes the Spanish-language newspaper, Nuestra Voz, the nightly newscast Currents News, and a digital department that oversees the group’s online content.
