Status: Freelance (6 weeks +)

Overview:

NET-TV, New York’s Catholic Station, is looking for a freelance video editor to join our nightly news program, Currents News. The editor will utilize their creative skills to create packages and vos that appear in the newscast using Adobe Premiere. You will also be tasked with doing some post-production editing. Candidates must have newsroom experience editing news content, be detail-oriented, have the ability to multitask, and react to multiple changes to the rundown throughout the day in a calm and timely fashion. Candidates will have a keen awareness for news content and how the video they are editing compliments the copy. This job is located on site in Brooklyn, five days per week.

Responsibilities/Skills:

  • Efficiently and accurately edit vos, vo/sots, and packages that meet broadcast standards
  • Add lower thirds to videos
  • Color correct video and adjust audio
  • Edit recorded segments and assemble to create final newscast
  • Export finished and approved video to the Nexio playback server.
  • Research and identify file videos needed
  • Post newscast to the website and social media
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Background and Experience:

  • Two or more years working as news video editor in a TV newsroom preferred
  • Exceptional organizational, communication skills
  • Strong and proven ability to multi-task and to work under deadlines
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere
  • Proficiency in After Effects, Audition and/or Photoshop a plus
