The Opportunity

The Accounting department at DeSales the organization using combination of strategic, compliance, reporting, analytic, and other support efforts. We cover a lot of ground. We support and manage the financial activity of several internal departments and also associations with related companies. We ensure the financial health of the company to best serve our mission and our diocese.

Who You Are

As a Senior Accountant, you bring over 5 years of relevant accounting and industry experience to collaborate in supporting the financial side of our business (ie: account reconciliations, treasury close, A\R, A\P, audit and financial reporting). You have employee and customer empathy that you can project across the company. You fancy yourself a process and financial controls expert who has made significant improvements in the accounting area. You’ve implemented and tested financial controls and have improved the monthly close process to ensure financial integrity.

Your Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the CFO
  • Work collaboratively with the Accounting Team (5 in total) and many others in the organization
  • Work on the monthly close, account collections and financial reporting processes
  • Treasury Management with our retail banking partner, including bank recs and account analysis
  • Collections and aging review and reporting
  • Fixed Asset accounting
  • Budget preparation and review
  • Management reporting to Sales, CFO and other Sr. Management
  • Audit organization and support
  • Experience with systems implementations a strong plus
  • Able to work with large volumes of data and organize it into an understandable and actionable format


  • 5-7 years’ experience
  • BA in Accounting degree required with a career path
  • CPA preferred, but not required
  • Experienced Accounting Professional with process improvement experience
  • QuickBooks and Microsoft suite of products with strong excel experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment that is constantly changing by new initiatives
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to all audience types
  • Ability to work in the office 3-4 days per week
  • Strong/proven collaboration skills
